This painting represents the colours of the amazing wildflowers that bloom in the red desert, Alice Springs.  The wildflowers just cover the desert ground, with so many brilliant colours, purples, yellows, whites, reds, etc.  The wildflowers transform the desert into something that is just amazing to see.  Fields and fields of flowers.  Running through the mountain ranges, the plains, and near the dry river beds. The red sand shines through the flowers.

My Great Uncle Walter was the Rainmaker for the Eastern Arrernte tribe. He was initiated in the deepest laws for the Eastern Arrernte.  He was the holder of the tjurunja stones and board. Our tribe is from Alice Springs, Central Australia

He seen the men, women and children from all different tribes come together for large ceremonies to make the rain come.  These ceremonies would last for days, sometimes weeks.

Each separate part of the painting depicts my country when the rain and water flows through the hills, rivers with the central Australian colours

This painting represents Alice Springs and the importance of my country to me. I am from the Eastern Arrernte Tribe. Alice Springs has a strong hold in the history of my family through many generations, from my great grandmother to me.

In this painting each section is a part of my country that my family have travelled over.  Through the mountain ranges, arid deserts, knowing of waterholes, the colours, the walking tracks, dry creek beds the formation of my country is wonderful.

This painting represents the Caterpillar Dreaming which formed part of the MacDonnell Ranges, Alice Springs.   There are waterholes which have great ceremonial significance.  This story is from my eastern arrernte tribe dreaming.

One of the sacred waterholes is Heavitree Gap.  Heavitree gap is the only access to Alice Springs from the South.  The next is Emily Gap and that is where the caterpillars came together to start the Caterpillar Dreaming Trail.  The next waterhole is Jessie Gap which is a ceremonial place.

This painting represents Perenti Dreaming.  The Perenti made the fire burn from all different places and ended up burning down to a place named Wire Creek Bore which is situated on the North side of Ooodnadatta (South Australia).  From all those different places the Perenti formed the land.

The circles are where the fire started to burn and ended burn.  The track is the travel of the fire across the land.
